VA Blog translation: Hideo Ishikawa on the slot machine

About a month ago Genjuro's voice actor, Hideo Ishikawa, updated his blog and talked a little bit about Symphogear after he spotted a poster for the slot machine's release. He also talks about working with Nana on her concerts and preparing to attend SMASH con in Australia.

Interview with Ayahi Takagaki from CUT Magazine August 2015 issue

I finished this awhile ago, but I didn't have a computer handy when I did the TL so it was written by hand. I only now found the opportunity to type it up. I want to spend more time on Symphogear stuff, but summer is a busy time for me socially. Symphogear Live 2016 - Official Report

This is a translation of the content that recently went up on the official site. It includes excerpts of the cast comments from the end of the concert as well as a general overview of the things that happened during the performances. I've been sitting on this magazine for quite awhile now. I originally picked it up when I saw a picture of the Symphogear article on Twitter back around the time it was released. It features interviews with all 6 main members of the cast. I'm planning to TL them one-by-one as I have time. Today I'll be starting with the headliner: Hibiki's actress, Aoi Yuki.

Agematsu took a few minutes to tweet about Hibiki and the meaning behind her name last night, and what he had to say was rather profound.

Symphogear Live 2016 goods available for order

As promised by the twitter account, online sales for all of the concert goods started today. Unfortunately it is not hosted by Good Smile Company like in previous years, and is instead hosted by the King Records webshop. This means shipping overseas is not possible, but people overseas may still find ways to get them.

This is coming a bit late, I know. I wanted to ride the wave of the excitement after the season 4 & 5 announcement and get this done sooner, but it took time to organize all my thoughts. Anyway, enjoy.

Symphogear G and GX medley airs on Radio Nikkei

Someone on the staff of Radio Nikkei's "Anime & Seiyu Music Night" is a big fan of Symphogear. In the past the station aired a nonstop marathon of 6 songs from season 1, but now they've stepped up their game.

Symphogear BD 6 released along with Carol's "Green Green"

We're only a few days away from the Symphogear live concert and the timing was definitely intentional as the final blu-ray volume of GX was just released along with the full versions of: While Singing Our Thanks (Maria / Kirika / Shirabe), G-Beat IGNITED and Green Green (Carol). Green Green was only announced a few weeks ago and caught many people by surprise. However, what's even more surprising is that it's not actually a Symphogear song, but Carol covering a song that's been around since 1963.

Ayahi talks about the live rehersal

The actress who plays Chris, Ayahi Takagaki, recently updated her blog to talk a bit about what happened at the rehearsal for the concert this week. I went ahead and did a quick TL.

Pre-concert Hype

With just over a week to go before the big 2016 concert, things are getting pretty exciting. Tonight the official website revealed that BD 6 will have a new song for Carol titled: "Green, Green." Also the line-up of concert goods has been revealed which includes a few surprises.

And if you haven't noticed I've started a database of translated lyrics for all the GX songs. So far this only includes the songs I TL'd for H&D but I've begun the secondary songs from the CDs as well, the most recent being Tsubasa's "To the sky." Check it out.

Symphogear GX Design Archive

The Symphogear GX Design Archive is the third book in the Symphogear "design" series, and like its predecessors it doesn't disappoint. It's filled with 250 pages of conceptual art, prop designs, background sketches, interviews and more. Previously the "design" books were only available for sale at the concerts but the GX Design Archive retails for 4,000 yen (about $32) and can be purchased online from amiami, CD Japan and Play Asia.

Long time no see. Thought I'd give the old blog an update now that some new stuff has come in. I hope to return to regular updates...someday. H&D subs for OVA 2 coming soon, the script is out of the draft phase but I fear setting the signs may take time. My thanks to those who are sticking with us. In the meantime let's take a look at the new releases as we gear up for the concert at the end of the month.
