2016 Concert Announced

At the end of the nico stream event the next concert was announced to be held in February of next year. It will span 2 days.

Location: Nippon Budokan (Tokyo, Japan)
Dates: Saturday February 27th and Sunday February 28th
Appearances by: Aoi Yuki (Hibiki), Nana Mizuki (Tsubasa), Ayahi Takagaki (Chris), Yoko Hikasa (Maria), Yuka Iguchi (Miku), Ai Kayano (Kirika) and Nanjo Yoshino (Shirabe) with more TBA.
Tickets: Volume 1 and Volume 2 of the BD/DVD will enclose a serial number for entrance into a premium lottery for early tickets. General sales will also be available with details to be announced at a later date.

In 2013, the concert was held at Makuhari Messe Event Hall which holds about 9,000 people. The Budokan can hold upwards of 15,000 people. So the venue is steadily growing with each performance. The Budokan has a long history of hosting famous musicians including many notable foreign artists.

The expansion from 1 day to 2 days means that the number of performers and songs will increase from previous years. This means songs from all 3 seasons will likely be featured. Of course, I expect it will be later released on BD/DVD so for those of you cannot attend in person you will eventually have a chance to see it.

On an unrelated side note, Thomas Romain, a background artist whose work has been featured in every season of Symphogear, will be releasing his first artbook this month. It will likely feature some of the design work he did for Symphogear. Ever since the end of season 1 Thomas has been a big presence for those of us in the English-speaking fandom. He was one of the first and only staff members to drop a hint on Twitter that we would be getting a season 2. If you're a fan of the series, you should consider supporting his work and picking up a copy of the book if you can. It's available on CDJapan and likely other anime merch sites, amiami, HLJ, etc.
